After a second season that was really developing an interesting narrative about women in the rap industry, Max pulled the plug on the Issa Rae-created series Rap Sh!t starring Aida Osman and KaMillion.

The show premiered in July 2022 and followed Osman as Shawna Clark and KaMillion as Mia Knight who unintentionally started a rap group in Miami with ambitions of making it in the music industry. The second season dropped on November 9, 2023 after being pushed from its original summer release. Sadly on Thursday, January 18, the news came that the seducing and scheming would stop for Mia and Shawna.

Fans were very vocal about their feelings on the show ending stating many Black-led TV shows have recently had an influx of cancelations and many don’t make it past two seasons. The cast of the show also chimed in on social media to share their disappointment of not being able to continue their character’s journey.

Very sad to see this show go, but hopefully another streamer will pick it up. That happens every so often and it would give fans the opportunity for some conclusion.

Both seasons of Rap Sh!t are available to stream on Max.

What do you think about Rap Sh!t getting canceled? Are you sad to see the show end? Share your thoughts in the comments.
