A Regina George Link Up Happens During Reneé Rapp’s ‘SNL’ Appearance

And everything is good in Girl World after this weekend’s latest Saturday Night Live episode. “Saltburn” and Euphoria actor Jacob Elordi hosted the first show of 2024 with musical guest Reneé Rapp in the 9th episode of season 49, but the biggest moment for me came with the ultimate meet-up of Regina George’s. Let me explain.

For her second song, Reneé Rapp performed “Not My Fault” featuring Megan Thee Stallion from the 2024 “Mean Girls” soundtrack. Rapp, who played Regina George in the Broadway “Mean Girls” musical and in the 2024 film, has been very vocal about her love for Rachel McAdams but hasn’t met her. McAdams of course played Regina in the 2004 film and Megan Thee Stallion refers to herself as the Black Regina George, first heard in the song “Naturally” off her 2017 Make It Hot album. Rachel McAdams made a rare public appearance introducing Reneé Rapp’s second performance.

Rapp shared a moment between herself and McAdams on her Instagram as well more photos from her time on SNL. Megan Thee Stallion also shared a photo of the Regina’s mimicking the 3 Spider-Man meme.

Later, McAdams appeared in an SNL sketch as a Rachel McAdams look-alike seeking advice from a successful actor, played by Jacob Elordi.

This Regina George moment isn’t the first time the “Mean Girls” world collided.  Angourie Rice who plays Cady Heron was photographed with Lindsay Lohan during the “Mean Girls” premiere. Jaquel Spivey and Daniel Franzese, who both played Damian, were also snapped during the red-carpet premiere. And both Karens, Avantika and Amanda Seyfried, took photos together. Lacey Chabert and Lizzy Caplan please stand up.
