January 2024 Watch List (Streaming and Theatrical Releases)

Happy New Year!

We’re at the top of 2024 so it’s time to recommend some new content coming out this year, but first, let’s start with January. For me, January is usually a toss-up when it comes to content. It’s usually a slow month and not too many big films come out. It may be one at the beginning of the month or during the final week. When it comes to TV shows there may be shows coming back from winter finales or new shows trying to find an audience. You just never know with January, but I do have a few recommendations that caught my eye.

As a horror lover, I’m always going to gravitate towards those types of films so “Night Swim” made my list. Not sure when I’ll be able to check it out, but it’s still a top January contender. The musical adaption of “Mean Girls” comes to theaters this month and I admit I had my apprehensions. The 2004 film is already perfect, but I’ve been doing some research about the musical and listening to the original Broadway soundtrack and I think I may be so sold on the film.
