It’s something about the HGTV channel that is so addicting. Watching homes get remolded or a couple attempting to find their dream home is very alluring, but add a dark comedic element to that and you have my attention.

Produced by A24, The Curse is an upcoming “genre-bending scripted comedy” series co-created and executive produced by Benny Safdie and Nathan Fielder, who also serves as a director and appears in the show opposite Emma Stone, also an executive producer alongside Dave McCary, Ali Herting, and Josh Safdie. The Curse follows Whitney (Stone) and Asher (Fielder) Siegel, a newly married couple who have an alleged curse on them that wrecks their lives as they try to conceive a child and host their “problematic new HGTV show.”

The first look doesn’t give away too much but I love me some Emma Stone so I’m on board. Benny Safdie, Samantha Ashley, GiGi Erneta, Corbin Bernsen, Constance Shulman, Barkhad Abdi, Jerry G. Angelo, and Michelle Campbell are listed as featured cast.

The New York Film Festival will premiere the first three episodes on October 12 and the series will start streaming on Paramount+ for Showtime subscribers on November 10, before premiering on November 12 on Showtime.
