Disclaimer: This interview was conducted before the SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) strike.

City on Fire actor Alexander Piñeiro joined Glambergirlblog.com in a one-on-one chat on the brink of Hollywood’s actors joining the WGA (Writers Guild of America) and going on strike. Piñeiro co-stars in the Apple TV+ series City on Fire as Sol. Based on the book of the same name by Garth Risk Hallberg, City on Fire (created for television by/teleplay by Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz) follows the events leading up to and following an NYU student named Sam (Chase Sui Wonders) being shot in Central Park. Jemima Kirke, Wyatt Oleff, Nico Tortorella, Xavier Clyde, Alexandra Doke, Max Milner, John Cameron Mitchell, Ashley Zukerman, and Geoff Pierson make up the ensemble cast.

During GGB’s chat, Alexander talked about his role in City on Fire and how he was shocked by the ending and his character’s involvement. The actor who also wrote and directed the short “Rebellious 8” shared how Marvel comics inspired his film of Latino superheroes.

Since the SAG-AFTRA strike was imminent, Pinerio candidly shared his feelings on it and what individuals could do to support the writers and actors during the duration of the strike.
