Beyoncé Kicks Off The U.S. Leg of The Renaissance World Tour In Philly

Since the beginning of Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour on May 10, 2023, at Friends Arena, in Stockholm, Sweden we’ve gotten some pretty iconic moments. From marriage proposals, gender reveals, Blue Ivy’s guest appearances and Tomdaya (Tom Holland and Zendaya in layman’s terms) singing “Love On Top” to one another in Warsaw, the Renaissance World Tour, RWT, is shaping up to be Bey’s biggest tour yet.

For several months overseas, Bey toured her latest body of work, her seventh studio album RENAISSANCE which dropped on July 29, 2022. Fans knew a tour was imminent when the album dropped and the Beyhive was ready for the singer and songwriter’s first solo tour since The Formation World Tour in 2016. The RWT runs about two and a half hours long and it’s all Bey performing songs from her latest album mixed with classic hits from her discography.

Beyoncé returned home and kicked off the U.S. leg of the RWT in Philly on Wednesday, July 12. I was lucky to be in attendance despite all the circumstances that were hindering me. The show took fans through a journey of ballroom culture and liberation as we sang loudly to “Cozy,” “Cuff It,” “Formation,” “Diva,” “Get Me Bodied,” “Crazy In Love,” and more!

The RWT will make several more stops in cities across the U.S. including Miami, Atlanta, Houston, Chicago, and Inglewood. The tour concludes on Sunday, October 1 in Kansas City.
