June 2023 Watch List (Streaming and Theater Releases)

The summer film and TV season is coming in hot for the month of June. This could be one of the last bulks of good content we get for a while with the ongoing writers’ strike that’s happening in the entertainment industry right now so let’s appreciate what we’re getting along with thanking the writers for creating projects we’re excited to watch.

In June there are a few films coming to theaters and streaming on my radar that range from suspense, horror, and a rom com. “The Blackening” is a film that questions if an all Black cast can survive a horror movie and “The Perfect Find” tests if secret romances can work.

For television rollouts, I’m really excited about The Crowded Room coming to Apple TV+ on June 9. I’ve become such a fan of Tom Holland, especially watching his career outside of his Spider-Man roles. I think this role will be his best to date. The return of Black Mirror for the sixth season is very exciting for fans of the thriller Sci-fi series, myself included. Another show returning in June is the second season of Max’s And Just Like That…A New Chapter of Sex and the City. Sam Levinson’s controversial The Idol also comes to Max in June and Peacock is releasing a new murder mystery series with Based on a True Story.

There are going to be so many great shows and films coming out and y’all know I’m going to have plenty of reviews on them all.
