‘Schmigadoon!’ Season 2 Comes To An End With The Release of The Soundtrack

I can’t truly express the happiness I feel now that this day is here. I’ve been waiting for the Schmigadoon! season 2 soundtrack to drop from the moment I heard the organs play in the intro to “Welcome to Schmicago” back in early April.

If you’ve been missing out on great television then allow me to put you on. Schmigadoon! is the Apple TV+ series co-created by Cinco Paul. Season 1 followed Josh (Keegan-Michael Key) and Melissa (Cecily Strong), a pair of doctors who find their relationship in a rut. While on a couple’s retreat, Josh and Melissa get lost and stumble upon a magical town called Schmigadoon in which everyone acts like they’re in a classic musical.

Season 2 followed Josh and Melissa now trapped in Schmicago, the sexy and darker side of ’60s and ’70s musicals, as they try to find happiness. The second season premiered April 5 and now the season finale is here (arriving early on May 2) after the 6-week arc. The show is indeed hilarious, but the jewel of the show comes from the amazing soundtrack performed by the cast, often live on set, and written by Cinco Paul.

The new soundtrack of Schmigadoon! will feature all the songs we heard throughout the season including: “Maybe It’s My Turn Now,” “Bells and Whistles,” and “Doorway to Where” performed by the cast of Strong, Key, Tituss Burgess, Dove Cameron, Aaron Tveit, Kristin Chenoweth, Alan Cumming, Martin Short, Ariana DeBose, Jane Krakowski, Ann Harada, Jaime Camil, Patrick Page and more.

The Schmigadoon! season 2 soundtrack is available for digital download and streaming on Wednesday, May 3.
