It’s that time of year when we reflect on how we’ve spent the last 12 months, but if you’re into pop culture like me then you look back on all the awesome content you consumed. Let’s be honest, that’s much more fun anyway thinking back on the ways TV shows and films shocked us, made us cry, infuriated us, gave us joy, and so many more emotions.

By following this blog you know how much I love TV and film and often share what projects I loved, REALLY loved, or didn’t like so much. As long as I’ve been blogging (11 years to be exact) I can’t believe I never did a post like this. I do recall making a top ten list of best GGB moments/posts, but never anything that centered solely on the TV shows or films that stayed on my mind long after the credits rolled, so I decided to do it this year.

Looking back I’ve consumed a lot of TV watching hours in 2022 and it was hard to narrow down a list of 10 shows that I enjoyed the most, but here it is. Next week, on Friday December 23 be sure to come back to Glambergirlblog.com to check out my Top 10 Films of 2022.

Glambergirlblog’s Top 10 TV Shows of 2022

10. Tell Me Lies (Hulu)
This show got under my skin so much that I had to bring back “So, I Was Watching…” podcast (new episodes drop on Wednesdays on Spotify, Anchor, Apple Podcasts, and on Glambergirlblog). Tell Me Lies follows the toxic relationship between Lucy (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen (Jackson White) and all the mishaps during Lucy’s freshman year of college. It’s triggering as it is entertaining and I’m so glad a season 2 is coming.

9. The Thing About Pam (NBC/Peacock)
Based on the 2011 murder of Betsy Faria and the wrongful conviction of her husband Russ, The Thing About Pam chronicles the menacing mind of Pam Hupp played by Renée Zellweger in an infuriating yet captivating role. It’s always strange to enjoy shows that are based on true crime, but I couldn’t help but to be tuned in to watch how Pam weaseled her way out of murder. Shameful.

8. American Horror Stories season 2 (Hulu)
If you know me and GGB you know it’s all about the horror over here! American Horror Stories, the spin-off series of American Horror Story, finds a new way to share anthology tales of horror that often tie to the original series but very much stands alone. There were a selected few episodes I enjoy in the first season in 2021, but season 2 really had amazing episodes that made it far better than season 1. I mean the “Dollhouse” episode floored me!

7. Chucky season 2 (USA/SYFY)
Chucky just might be my favorite horror film franchise. What Don Mancini has done to keep this franchise going and what Brad Dourif has done for decades bringing Chucky to life will go down in horror history. Although I enjoyed Chucky season 1, season 2 upped the stakes and really did a good job tying in the legacy characters with the newbies. It’s a ridiculous show and I want at least 3 more seasons of it.

6. The Resort (Peacock)
If there’s a show with someone trying to solve a mystery then I’m already in. My favorite board game is Clue. Cristin Milioti and William Jackson Harper are two underrated dramatic-comedic actors and their skills are on full display in The Resort. The duo play a married couple celebrating their 10-year anniversary traveling to the Bahia del Paraiso resort in Yucatan for a romantic getaway, but they end up in wrapped in a true-crime adventure that is both exhilarating, emotional, and hilarious. And I’ve never been claustrophobic, but a moment in episode 8 had me pulling at my skin.

5. Wednesday (Netflix)
What can I say, this is now a Jenna Ortega Stan account. I knew I would love Wednesday on Netflix, but I didn’t think I would love it THIS much. The show follows Wednesday Addams attending Nevermore Academy and while she’s honing in on her psychic abilities she also finds herself in the middle of trying to solve the mystery of a killer on the loose. Jenna is an amazing Wednesday Addams and I found the show exciting trying to solve the mystery of the killer monster while being fully enthralled with Wednesday’s witty banter with anybody she encounters. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

4. The White Lotus season 2 (HBO/HBO Max)
Sound the turkey calls because the second season of The White Lotus was steamier, funnier, and more engaging than season one and I couldn’t get enough. The show takes place over the course of a week following the lives of select guests and employees at The White Lotus spa and resort. Someone ends up dead by the end of the season so the viewers are always on edge trying to figure out who. This season actually made me want to make TikTok videos (@Glambergirlblog) because I needed to discuss what was happening on this show at any given minute. Also the cast this season was so hot, I didn’t know if I wanted to sleep with them or be besties with them.

3. From (EPIX)
We’re getting into Sci-Fi territory, another one of my fav genres. From tells the story of a small town in the middle of nowhere that traps anyone who enters. At night terrifying creatures roam the land and it’s best to remain indoors until daybreak. The way the series ended made me SO happy a second season is coming. Yall GET.INTO.IT!

2. Stranger Things Season 4 (Netflix)
Ten words. Kate Bush “Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God).” It’s the song that swept the Stranger Things fandom and had us all gagging at Max (Sadie Sink) running away from Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) in “Chapter Four: Dear Billy” in season 4. The fourth installment of Stranger Things added more characters, different coasts, a dangerous monster, and upped the excitement for the fifth and final season…whenever that comes.

1. Severance (Apple TV+)
When I tell you I never stood up more watching a show I mean it and that’s why Severance is my top show of 2022. What if you could completely split your memories between your professional and personal life. When you are at home you have no recollection of anything that happened at work and vice versa. In theory, it seems not too bad if you have a crappy home life or hate your job, but how would the person stuck in a constant rut feel? That’s the idea behind Apple TV+ Primetime Emmy-winning series. This show is such a mind bend that had me screaming at my screen during the finale moments of season one. Lucky me, season two is coming in the new year.
