The First Look At Jenna Ortega As Wednesday Addams Is Revealed For Netflix ‘Wednesday’ Series

Back in May 2021, it was announced that Jenna Ortega would be playing Wednesday Addams in a Tim Burton-directed live-action series for Netflix. That seems so long ago, but now the first look at Ortega as Addams in the upcoming Wednesday show has been released in part of the streaming service Geeked Week, which will reveal sneak peeks of their upcoming projects all week.

Wednesday Addams is revealed in the first teaser for Wednesday. Initially seen twisting her hair in her infamous braided pigtail hairstyle, Ortega later appears on the screen fixing her collared dress with Thing on her shoulder preparing to do the notable Addams “snap snap.” The brief teaser was enough to get fans of the Addams Family hype for the series centered around the woeful daughter of Gomez and Morticia Addams (played by Luis Guzman and Catherine Zeta-Jones in Wednesday) and her years at Nevermore Academy attempting to perfect her emerging psychic abilities.

Isaac Ordonez will play Pugsley Addams, George Burcea plays Lurch, Victor Dorobantu plays Thing and Gwendoline Christie plays a character named Larissa Weems, but the absolute gem of casting for me is Christina Ricci! Ricci played Wednesday Addams in the 1991 and 1993 films “The Addams Family” and “Addams Family Values” flawlessly and I’m so excited she’ll be a part of this show. No word has been revealed of what character Ricci will play, but I hope she has a prominent role in the 8-episode series.
