Doja Cat Brings Willie Mae Big Mama Thornton To “Vegas” With Single From ‘Elvis’ Soundtrack

By now if you don’t know Doja Cat is a superstar and that I’m a huge fan then now you know!

The Planet Her artist released a music video for her single “Vegas” from the “Elvis” soundtrack. Austin Butler stars as the famed rock and roll star Elvis Presley in the Baz Luhrmann written and directed film depicting Presley’s life set for a June 24 release. The single features a sample of “Hound Dog” originally sung by Willie Mae Big Mama Thornton which was released in 1953. Elvis Presley did a version of the song in 1956 and it became one of his most notorious records.

In the music video for “Vegas,” Doja Cat is seen singing and dancing around a tavern and features Shonka Dukureh lip syncing along to the sample of Willie Mae Big Mama Thornton, whom she plays in the “Elvis” film.
