Back in 2020 everybody and I mean everybody was talking about Netflix’s crime documentary Tiger King. It depicted the rivalry between Joe Exotic (Oklahoma zoo operator and big cat breeder) and Carole Baskin (Big cat enthusiast) and how Exotic was caught in a murder for hire against Baskin that eventually landed him in prison. It was nuts and it was a trending topic for a long time sparking countless memes. Now two years later Peacock is bringing the story to life in live-action form.

In Joe vs. Carole, John Cameron Mitchell and Kate McKinnon will take on the title roles in the scripted adaptation of Robert Moor’s 2020 Wondery podcast “Joe Exotic: Tiger King.” The series follows Baskin trying to shut down Exotic’s business after catching wind he’s breeding big cats for profit. There kicks off the bitter rivalry between the two. If you saw the Netflix doc then you know exactly what went down, but hopefully, this series will bring new info to light if you’re still interested in this story. Although this looks like an extended SNL sketch, I have Peacock so I’ll give it a watch.

Joe vs. Carole streams Thursday, March 3 on the Peacock streaming app.
