Leatherface is back terrorizing the south nearly 50 years after the 1974 Kim Henkel and Tobe Hooper film “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre” in Netflix’s upcoming film by Fede Álvarez & Rodo Sayagues; “Texas Chainsaw Massacre.”

“Texas Chainsaw Massacre” will follow a group of influencers trying to reinvent a small remote Texas town. Unbeknownst to them, they are about to spark the reinvention of something far more sinister; Leatherface. Fede Álvarez said this sequel will embrace the past while entering a new era. “It’s basically the same character, who is still alive, [from the original film]. Our take on it was this guy probably disappeared after everything he’s done. You know, how do you catch a guy who has a mask? Once he removes the mask and runs away, it’s very easy for him to hide somewhere. This story will pick it up many, many years after the original story. He’s been in hiding for a long, long time, trying to be a good person. These people arriving in this town are going to awaken the giant,” Entertainment Weekly reported.

“Texas Chainsaw Massacre” comes to Netflix Friday, February 18. Watch the official trailer in the clip below. Are you ready to see Leatherface again? Share your thoughts in the comments.
