It’s a crying shame that Showtime’s Black Monday doesn’t get the promotion it deserves. I had no idea the series was green-lit for another season, let alone the new season would be coming in May. I stumbled on a teaser while watching the network and was shocked to see one of my recent favorite comedy series wasn’t canceled.

Don Cheadle, Andrew Rannells, and Regina Hall star in Black Monday, a dark comedy that takes viewers on the inside of Wall Street in the 1980’s. The first season focused on the infamous stock market crash of 1987 known as “Black Monday” and the events that led up to it for The Jammer Group headed by Mo Monroe (Cheadle). It’s an intricate story of what happens when corporate hustlers meet street smarts hustlers and what it takes to stay on top in business. The show is absolutely hilarious and I highly recommend it.

The third season enters a new decade, the ’90’s! While the main characters are not where they started on Wall Street, they still have a few tricks up their sleeves to get themselves back in good graces.

Black Monday returns to Showtime for season 3 on Sunday, May 23 at 10pm.
