The real-life case files of American paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren have been on cinematic display for 8 years since the first taste of the universe in 2013 with “The Conjuring.” Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga brought Ed and Lorraine to life for almost a decade and the new film is said to be one of their most sinister cases.

“The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It” focuses on the “most sensational cases” from Ed and Lorraine’s files about the state of a young man’s soul. It marks the first time in U.S. history that demonic possession was used as a defense in a murder case. The trailer for the film features a look into the 1981 court case of Arne Johnson, a family’s curse, and acknowledging the presence of the devil. I’ve seen all the installments of “The Conjuring” films, so I’m ready for this one and to see how it connects to the other films.

Available at no additional costs to subscribers, “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It” comes to HBO Max on June 4th and will be released in theaters the same day.
