An alternative reality game in San Francisco called Game of Nonchalance that took place from 2008-2011 is the inspiration for AMC’s upcoming series Dispatches From Elsewhere executive produced and co-starring Jason Segel.

The 11 episode series also stars André Benjamin, Sally Field, and Eve Lindley as four strangers (including Segal) who come together with the aid of The JeJune Institute to participate in an interactive puzzle that inhabits their everyday lives. The official premise for the show says the group will “come to find that the mystery winds deeper than they imagined, and their eyes are opened to a world of possibility and magic.”

After my initial viewing of the trailer I was getting a mix of “The Adjustment Bureau” and Maniac splashed with that game they were playing in The OA season 2. Those mentioned are television shows and a film that I love so I’m intrigued by this series no matter how trippy and confusing the overall trailer was; plus the show was shot in Philly and I enjoy seeing my city on screen. I’ll give it a try. You know where to find me at the start of March.

Watch the trailer for Dispatches From Elsewhere, coming to AMC Sunday, March 1 at 10/9c, in the clip below. Does this show seem interesting to you? Share your thoughts in the comments.
