Audiences have known the lovable, talking animated dog Scooby Doo for 50 years. Since the start of the franchise in 1969 with Hanna-Barbera Productions: Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, Scooby along with Fred, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne, and sometimes Scrappy, have grown to be household names and iconic cartoon characters.
The franchise has gone through a variety of animated shows, films, and even live-action projects, but have we ever really tackled an origin story? That’s what the upcoming film “Scoob!,” out in summer 2020, will show.
In the animated film “Scoob!” fans will see how Shaggy (Will Forte) gained possession of Scooby (Frank Welker), which he named from a snack food, and how he started the Mystery Inc. with Fred (Zac Efron), Velma (Gina Rodriguez) and Daphne (Amanda Seyfried). Viewers will get to see the gang grow up and solve their biggest mystery to date; a plot to unleash the ghost dog Cerberus upon the world.
Kiersey Clemons, Jason Isaacs, Ken Jeong, Tracy Morgan, and Mark Wahlberg will also voice characters in the Tony Cervone directed film out May 15, 2020.
