A Killer App Reveals Your Lifespan In Thriller ‘Countdown’

Just in time for the pinnacle day of spooky season, a new thriller is coming that takes many elements of previous horror projects to create a hybrid story for “Countdown” starring You actress Elizabeth Lail.

The trailer opens with the voice over that is so true to today’s society. “Our phones have become essential. Apps keep track of our schedules, our fitness, our love lives, but what if an app could tell you how long before you die.” Yeah that’s all well and good until you find out you die tomorrow or within minutes.

Lail plays Quinn a nurse who downloads a ‘Countdown’ app which literally counts down until the day you die. It’s like Black Mirror Hang the DJ, but with more heinous consequences. Some people have received a lengthy life time frame, while others aren’t granted that much; Quinn is one of those people with days to live. In the trailer she’s trying to discover more about the app and how she can beat her countdown.

Anne Winters, Peter Facinelli, P.J. Byrne, and Tichina Arnold also appear in “Countdown,” in theaters just in time for Halloween – October 25.
