Oh hell yes!

Maya, Toni, Joan, and Lynn will be coming back to our screens this fall and while they may not be playing their iconic 2000’s characters it’s good to see one of my favorite group of gal pals together again.

If none of that made any sense to you allow me to fill you in. Tracee Ellis Ross, who starred as Joan Clayton on the UPN turned The CW TV show Girlfriends, currently stars a Rainbow ‘Bow’ Johnson on ABC’s black-ish. On Instagram this week she shared a special sneak peek of her former Girlfriends co-stars on the set of black-ish where they will all have guest starring roles.

Ross captioned the reunion announcement with video writing, “GIRLFRIENDS X BLACKISH ~ @therealgolden47 @misspersiawhite @itsmejillmarie @blackishabc my giiiiirlfriends are guest starring on #blackish Tuesday, October 8! We haven’t all been together on camera since 2006. These are women I grew up with and love deeply and it was easy tap back into the magic of our chemistry and how much we love each other. It was giggles on top of giggles on top of giggles. Girlfriends ran for 8 years and was important to so many people. Being able to merge the worlds of @blackishabc and Girlfriends was surreal for me and so much fun.”

Yes, Persia White, Golden Brooks, and Jill Marie Jones will all be on-screen together come early October and fans of the show went into a frenzy on social media making the series trend. As mentioned above, the episode will air October 8th and is called “Feminisn’t.” It will bring in Bow’s (Ross) feminist girlfriends to help her daughter Diane (Marsai Martin) and mother-in-law Ruby (Jenifer Lewis) change their minds about feminism.

Since we are in the age of reboots, I sure wouldn’t mind a reboot of Girlfriends or at least a Sex and the City style movie. Maybe a Will & Grace limited series situation. Something!

Season 6 of black-ish premieres September 24 at 9:30 pm on ABC.

What do you think? Are you excited to see the Girlfriends reunite? Will you be tuning into black-ish for the special episode? Share all your thoughts in the comments.
