For the past seven seasons of HBO Game of Thrones this is what its all been about. The bloody iron throne. Now that eighth and final season of the series is happening it only makes sense that the final album for the show would be called “For The Throne.”

The album features music inspired by the series from many of today’s hottest artist in a variety of genres. When it was announced that artists like Travis Scott and A$AP Rocky would be featured on the album, devoted fans of the show were a little worried that rap would be introduced into the world of Westeros. But have no fear, the new music will highly unlikely appear on the show as it appears on the album.

For example in episode 2 of season 8 Podrick’s (Daniel Portman) “Jenny of Oldstones” doesn’t appear on the album at all, but in a separate single of the same name by Florence + the Machine. The album does however include songs from: SZA, The Weeknd, and Travis Scott (“Power Is Power”), Ellie Goulding (“Hollow Crown”), Chloe x Halle (“Wolf at Your Door”), Lennon Stella (“Love Can Kill”), Mumford & Sons (“Devil in Your Eye”), and more! The album is now available for digital download and on streaming services.

Before we go I need mention some semi related GOT music. Thanks to YouTube suggestions I recently learned Grey Worm aka Jacob Anderson is a legit artist who goes by the stage name Raleigh Ritchie. And he’s good, like really GOOD! They should have put him on the album. I’m obsessed.

Listen to some of the new music inspired by the final season of Game of Thrones in the clips below. Have you listened to the album? Which tracks are your favorite? Share with GGB in the comments.
