Is The Millennium Tour Worth 2019 Coins?

On Saturday, March 30 The Millennium Tour stopped in Philadelphia, PA at
The Liacouras Center for the anticipated reunion of the popular 2000’s boy group B2K. The impressive throwback line up included: Chingy, Bobby V, Lloyd, Ying Yang Twins, Mario, Pretty Ricky, and the headliners, B2K of course.

I was a huge B2k fan in the early 2000’s. I’m talking wall to wall posters in my room from Word Up magazine, recording TV appearances on VHS, never missing a show when they came to town, and even having the luck of meeting them in person.

When the announcement was made back in December that the boys were reuniting and going on a limited engagement tour I knew I had to get tickets no matter what. Everyone else on the line up was just icing on the cake having been the soundtrack to my young adult years well into college.

Comedian Actor Gary ‘ G Thang’ Johnson served as the official host for the show and provided additional entertainment in between sets. He went around the venue asking people to sing which seems pretty mundane but became a very funny element of the show. This experience will also vary from show to show which adds another uniqueness to the tour.

I was running late to the show, which as a Virgo is very unlikely for me, so by the time I got into the venue Chingy was already on stage and it wasn’t even 7:30 yet, when the show was slated to start. He rapped many of his hits like: “Holidae In,” “Pullin’ Me Back,” “One Call Away,” “Right Thurr” and even the “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop” remix with special guest Young Gunz.

Next Bobby V followed, then Lloyd and Ying Yang Twins who brought the house down with their twerk worthy hits. All the acts thus far pretty much delivered great sets with the crowd singing loudly along. Mario and Pretty Ricky made the girls swoon performing their hits from the sweet “Never,” Mario’s song, to the sultry “Grind On Me,” Pretty Ricky. Then the Liacouras Center erupted into pure pandemonium *wink, wink* when B2K took the stage.

They opened with “Girlfriend” and proceed to sing hits like “Gots To Be,” “Bump, Bump, Bump,” and “What A Girl Wants” with surprises in between. Omarion took some time to perform his personal hits from his solo career, as did Pleasure P during the Pretty Ricky section of the show. My only real complaint about this tour is with B2K being the headliners I wish they would have done more of THEIR songs and in completion. The songs weren’t even cool mash ups, but rather snippets of the songs. They have quite a catalog that I’m sure every B2K fan in that venue would have known word for word, so I think that should have been incorporated in the show.

Overall I had a BLAST. If any of these artists are on your go to playlists then you need to go to this tour. It’s worth all the money spent on tickets and you’ll truly have a great time listening to these songs again in a concert setting.

The Millennium Tour ends May 26 in Las Vegas. See if they are coming to a city near you HERE.
