The 61st Grammy awards aired live from Los Angeles with host Alicia Keys on Sunday, February 10th. The biggest night in music gave awards to first time winners, honored music legends, and presented showstopping performances.

Ariana Grande earned her first Grammy along with H.E.R, and Dua Lipa. Cardi B made history becoming the first female solo artist to win Best Rap Album for Invasion of Privacy also Childish Gambino and Kacey Musgraves took home the most awards for the evening including the most conveted Record of the Year and Album of the Year, respectively. Check out the full list of winners HERE.

Camila Cabello opened the Grammys as the first Latina to do so. Lady Gaga, Post Malone, Chloe X Halle, Cardi B, Miley Cyrus, Shawn Mendes, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kacey Musgraves, Alicia Keys, Fantasia, Yolanda Addams, and H.E.R were among the many performers of the night.

Dolly Parton, Diana Ross, and Aretha Franklin all were honored artists with tributes curated for them throughout the show. Some were longer and more well planned out than others which was clear to the viewing audience on social media, but one moment in particular officially made Black History Month 2019 a bust. Jennifer Lopez was picked to perform a tribute to Motown and it was basically her Las Vegas residency. Nothing and I mean nothing about this performance gave me Motown, not even the 30 seconds combined that featured actual black talent like Alicia Keys, Smokey Robinson, and Ne Yo.

Don’t get me wrong, JLo puts on a show but this wasn’t the time for the show. Whoopi Goldberg and the nuns from “Sister Act” would have put on a more cultural appropriate tribute. Shame on you Grammys.

Which moments of the 2019 Grammys were your favorite? Did you even watch the show? Share all your thoughts in the comments.
