Emma Stone and Jonah Hill Reunite For Netflix’s ‘Maniac’ [TEASER]

It’s a “Superbad” supernatural reunion with Jonah Hill and Emma Stone starring alongside one another in Netflix upcoming limited series from Cary Joji Fukunaga, “Maniac,” based on the 2014 Norwegian series of the same name.

If you watch the teaser with Hill and Stone sitting opposite one another at a table you’d think you were watching a sneak peek into the new season of Black Mirror. “Once you begin to appreciate the structure of the mind there’s no reason to believe that anything about us can’t be changed. The mind can be solved,” are the only words spoken in the teaser followed by music counting to 3. From watching you can see Jonah’s character is wearing a number 1 lanyard and Emma’s is wearing a number 9.

The 10-episode series has been slated with the tagline “Two strangers find themselves caught up in a mind-bending pharmaceutical trial gone awry” and follows an institutionalized man who dreams of a “new life in a fantasy world.” Jonah and Emma play Owen Milgrim and Annie Landsberg respectively, but with both of these names appearing alongside both actors on IMDb it seems there will be some sort of role reversal involved.

“Maniac” premieres September 21 on Netflix.
