On June 16th, the iconic musical film “Grease” starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton John will be celebrating its 40th anniversary, but when Travolta stopped by The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon to promote his movie “Gotti” earlier this week the two celebrated a special anniversary.

“Today is a big day because it’s the 40th anniversary of the premiere in New York City, today of “Grease,” Fallon said to Travolta. After the crowd cheered and Travolta exclaimed how amazing it was, he then told a story about how he helped create an iconic moment in the movie with a simple dance move.

“Like in “Pulp Fiction,” I grew up with all these little novelty dances,” Travolta started, “So in “Grease” they were coming, they needed a step for that “You’re The One That I Want” at the end. So I said, “Well we used to do the four corners. Why don’t we do that?” And then the choreographer said, “Well, show it to me.” And I did.” Jimmy then got John to teach him that four corner dance and I’m sure you know the one I’m talking about. (I included a video below if you need a refresher.)

Watch John Travolta teach Jimmy Fallon the “four corners” dance move from the “Grease” movie in the clip from The Tonight Show below. Since it’s the Grease” 40th anniversary, which are your favorite moments from the film? Share your thoughts in the comments.
