Laverne Cox is making history by landing a wax figure at the famous Madame Tussauds wax museum in San Francisco.

The Orange Is the New Black actress will be the first transgender ever to be immortalized in wax in the museum’s history. On Monday, Madame Tussauds San Francisco announced the transgender rights activist figure pointing out that the Emmy-nominated actress was chosen due to her “outstanding achievements” and “the impact she has made through raising awareness and her stance on equality and inclusion within the LGBT community.”

“I am so deeply honored to have been asked to be part of the Madame Tussauds legacy,” Cox said. “When I think about being who I am, a black trans woman from a working class background raised in Mobile, Alabama, this honor feels even more improbable and extraordinary. It is my hope that this will be a source of inspiration for everyone who encounters it to believe that their dreams matter and are possible”

Laverne Cox’s figure will be unveiled during Pride Weekend festivities in the Bay Area on June 26. Be sure to watch Cox in season three of Orange Is the New Black premiering this Friday, June 12 on Netflix.
