Keke Palmer has got chills and they are multiply because she just landed a role in the upcoming live televised event of the 1978 film “Grease,” starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.
The Scream Queens actress will play the role of Marty, originally played Dinah Manoff in the movie. And if you’re wondering if Keke has the ability to rock the show live, she’ll have no trouble. She starred as the first African-American Cinderella for the Rodgers & Hammerstein production on Broadway last fall at the Broadway Theatre in New York City.
On Instagram, Palmer uploaded a screen grab about the news on EW with the caption, “Excited to be joining the Pink Ladies on #GreaseLive as Marty!”CONGRATS Keke!
Palmer joins other Pink Ladies Vanessa Hudgens, who will play Rizzo, and Julianne Hough who landed the lead role as Sandy. Grease: Live is set to air on FOX January 2016.
