It was announced this week that the 1996 cult horror film “The Craft” was getting a remake greenlit by Sony and written and directed by Leigh Janiak (“Honeymoon”) with help from Phil Graziadei on the script.

The story about amateur teen witches in high school tapping into a higher being to evoke powers to use for good and evil is basically the premise of “The Craft” and making it one of those iconic films of the ’90’s.

So who on Earth would take on the roles of the characters Sarah, Bonnie, Rochelle, and Nancy played by Robin Tunney, Neve Campbell, Rachel True, and Fairuza Balk. Those ladies were so effortless in those roles that GGB has some apprehension about the reboot.

Because the film is in the VERY early stages of production, the idea of casting is probably a far off thought, but over here at GGB we already started to ponder who would be ideal in these roles. It should be girls who don’t have their faces tied to huge blockbusters or insanely huge television shows, but already known enough that they will bring in an audience. Sony feel free to take our choices into consideration because they are kind of perfect. Check out who Glambergirlblog wants…

As Sarah Bailey – Olivia Cooke would be a good choice for Sarah. She plays Emma Decody on Bates Motel and has that whole mousey, innocent girl look down. Sarah in “The Craft” was an unsure teen unaware of how powerful she was and Cooke would be able to build that arc. Another good choice for Sarah would be Twisted actress Maddie Hasson.

As Nancy Downs – This could be a complete bias, but Elizabeth Gillies (Victorious,Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll) would kill this role. If she could tap into her character Jade West’s twisted, demented soul, dye her hair back jet black, and cut it a little, she’s be perfect. Alexandra Daddario (“Percy Jackson,” “Texas Chainsaw 3D”) would also be a good fit. Clearly we’re loving all the pale skin, dark-haired girls with beautiful eyes.

As Bonnie – Bonnie in “The Craft” lacked confidence because of her skin condition but was able to turn up her sexy once she got her powers. Although we know Vanessa Hudgens from a number of things she could make that transition in her character easy. We’ve seen it with her going from Gabriella in the “High School Musical” franchise to Candy in “Spring Breakers.” Camilla Belle (“10,000 BC,” “When A Stranger Calls”) would have to pre-Bonnie shy girl side down, not too sure about post-Bonnie, but we’re willing to give her a chance.

As Rochelle –  There’s a few ways this could go. Kiersey Clemons would be GGB’s first pick. Rochelle is a very sassy character and Clemons displayed that well in her role as Sophia on MTV’s Eye Candy. We’re not sure is which direction the casting choices would go, but we hope Rochelle would remain a woman of color. Jessica Lucas who appeared in a few things like “Cloverfield” and “Evil Dead” is no stranger to remakes and would be a good co-star for this film. Lastly, Kylie Bunbury (Tut, Twisted) could also be a good Rochelle.
