This week has been a rough one for Hollywood. On Monday it was announced that comedic actor Robin Williams was found dead from a suicide by hanging. The next day, Lauren Bacall‘s death was announced.

Bacall suffered a massive stroke at her home on Tuesday and died. She was 89.

Lauren Bacall, born Betty Joan Perske, began her iconic career in Hollywood in the “To Have and To Have Not” opposite Humphrey Bogart in 1944. She continued to act alongside Bogart in several films and starred in many greats of her own including “The Mirror Has Two Faces” and a personal favorite of mine “How To Marry A Millionaire.”

The late Lauren Bacall was the wife of fellow Hollywood icon Bogart until he passed in 1957. The couple had two children together. Bacall had a third child with her second husband Jason Robards.

RIP Lauren Bacall
