The 2014 Costume Institute Gala, aka Met Gala, took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday, May 5.

This year’s theme was “Charles James: Beyond Fashion,” with a focus on the 1940s and 1950s era when designers had “preference for the traditional through ”White Tie & Decorations.”

Anna Wintour is the fashion icon behind the fundraising event that aims to gain funds for the museum’s art costume institute.

The red carpet has come and gone and there were some interesting fashion choices as always.

Beyoncé, Rita Ora, Kristen Stewart, Rihanna, and Kim Kardashian were just some of the many big names that graced the carpet and showed off major fashion.
