We’re a few days away from Halloween so it’s time to up the amp on the scare factor for 13 Days of Glamberween. So I want to bring it back the first “Saw” before the franchise got bad.

What’s It About
“Saw” in the psychological thriller mainly based in one room. Two men, who we later find out is Adam (Leigh Whannell) [He wrote the film] and Dr. Lawrence Gordon (Cary Elwes), are chained by their feet on opposite sides of a room and awake to a “dead body” in the middle of the room. They soon find out they are in the midst of a deadly game by Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) that they may not survive.

Why It Made My List
In my opinion the first “Saw” was the best for many reasons. The plot made sense and it was shot well. The color scale and slow pace set the mood perfectly for that type of movie. It felt like you were in that grimy bathroom with Adam and Lawrence. As the franchise spun off into many ridiculous follow ups it just got more gory and less good so this one will always have a place in my horror movie heart. I remember seeing “Saw” for the first when my dad rented it from Blockbuster, yeah, and being so scared and at my wit’s end. I just wanted it to be over so I could know how it ended; and for those who saw the movie we know it was quite an ending.

Why You Should Watch It
“Saw” is a great film to watch and dissect. It will leave you thinking and yearning for more after viewing it which is good because the second film wasn’t bad. If you want to experience a mind bend during th Halloween season then this it the film for you.
