I’m still counting down my top 13 horror films for the 13 Days of Glamberween and now I want to discuss another one of my all time favorite horror films and just film in general, “Rosemary’s Baby.”

What’s It About
Rosemary’s Baby” is the 1968 film about a young couple, Rosemary (Mia Farrow) and Guy (John Cassavetes) Woodhouse who move into an ideal apartment complex in New York. Guy is an up and coming actor and Rosemary is a homemaker. The couple is ready for their first-born and meet an odd, older couple Roman (Sidney Blackmer) and Minnie (Ruth Gordon) Castevet. Upon Rosemary getting pregnant she becomes more and more suspicious about her neighbors being members of coven and plan to take her baby as a sacrifice.

Why It Made My List
First things first, the soundtrack of this film is amazing. The opening credits song still haunts my sweet nightmares and it’s just a classic film to me. When I first discovered this film I literally watched it everyday for two weeks straight; it was that intriguing to me. Mia Farrow plays the part of Rosemary so perfectly, she really steals the movie. Another character that I love is Minnie Castevet. She is one stylish lady and has some of the best one line zingers in the movie. “Rosemary’s Baby” builds suspense, especially if you don’t know how the story ends. I included this movie in my 13 Days of Glamberween because it’s one of those films that will stick with you.

Why You Should Watch It
“Rosemary’s Baby” is currently on Netflik’s and it’s so worth watching it to get in the Halloween mood. Mia Farrow is at her best in this movie and I feel it’s the start of the whole witches and coven craze. You have to see where the latest trend started, right? And a little fact about the film; part of it is referenced in “This Is The End.” If you saw both films tell me if you caught it in the comments below.
