The end of the year is only a few days away and much like other entertainment news media outlets Glambergirlblog is counting down the top 25 stories that happened this year in pop culture. Yesterday in part II we revealed numbers 19 – 13 and in this post we are continuing the countdown with numbers 12 – 6. So without further adieu check out part III of the countdown below.

12. Taylor Swift: The Maneater Golden girl Taylor Swift is known for many things: dominating the country charts, graciously accepting awards, a cat eye with blonde hair and dating the hottest guys in the entertainment industry. Swifty’s love life has become more popular than her records about her love life; her past lovers include but not limited to Taylor Lautner, Jake Gyllenhaal, Joe Jonas, John Mayer and Cory Monteith. Her most recent ex Connor Kennedy became old news when the “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” singer’s relationship with One Direction member Harry Styles went public. The two have been deemed Haylor and the rest is pop culture history. Let’s just hope Miss Swift doesn’t turn Harry into a song.

11. Kimye Goes Public The reality TV queen Kim Kardashian has been making headlines ever since her “home movie” got leaked back in 2007. The only thing biggest than Kim K’s ass is probably her heart and quest to find her happily ever after; making her an easy tabloid target. The world thought Kimmie finally found love with Brooklyn Nets basketball player Kris Humphries. The two had a very public courtship and an extravagant wedding only to lead to a very public and nasty divorce after 72 days of marriage. But don’t feel too bad for Kimmie; she found comfort and love in “long time friend” rapper Kanye West. The two soon became Kimye and spent half of the year denying they were a couple and the other half being joined at the hip.

10. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes Get Divorced The news of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes getting divorced came as such a shock to me. I mean I sent out a memo that 2012 would be the year of love and every time I turned around some of Hollywood’s most notable couples were getting divorced. In June, Cruise and Holmes announced that they were splitting after five years of marriage and would aim to have shared custody of their daughter six-year old Suri.

9. A Dolla’ Makes Honey Boo Boo Holla’ “You better redneckognize!” Alana Thompson also known as Honey Boo Boo Child dominated 2012 with her wild antics, catchy catchphrases and her popular reality TV show on TLC Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. The former Toddlers and Tiaras star even made Barbara Walters’ 10 Most Fascinating People which is a BFD! We’ll see if Honey Boo Boo can keep up her momentum in 2013.

8. The Twilight Saga Ends Where of where do I start with my love of The “Twilight” Saga. This blog has been very adamant in showing love to the saga and its cast. Back in 2008 Stephenie Meyer changed the way pop culture sees vampires with her story about the teenage girl Bella Swan who falls irrevocably in love with a 109-year old vampire Edward Cullen. The franchise made five films, millions of dollars and made each cast member, even crew, household names. In November 2012 “the epic finale that will live on forever‘ came to an end and a part of my life as well.

7. Call Me Maybe Takeovers Carly Rae Jepsen struck viral video gold with her single “Call Me Maybe.” I remember first hearing the song in class; a Visual Systems course that mixed pop culture with the sciences and technology and a classmate insisted on showing us a Youtube video of Harvard’s baseball team getting their life to the song. Ever since then I was hooked. That song skyrocketed Jepsen’s career and even landed her a Grammy nominations.

6. One Direction’s British Invasion You may not know the faces or the band name but you need to understand that One Direction is a BFD! The boy band originates from across the pond and were contestants in the UK version of X Factor but the minute the boys came to America British Invasion was in full swing. I admit I like some of the boys songs but my love for them doesn’t compare to the dedicated Directioners. The boys now have everything from dolls, keychains, bags, pillows, and even have a perfume in the making.
