It has been an interesting week for E! Fashion Police, Giuliana Rancic, and Zendaya Coleman who has been in the midst of racial controversy.

Following Sunday’s Academy Awards where Zendaya wore faux dreadlocks on the red carpet, Giuliana Rancic said stereotypical comments about Zendaya’s look on Fashion Police, leading to a social media storm bashing Rancic about her choice of words. After two apologizes from Rancic, Zendaya is speaking out.

“Studies have shown that even though we try to act without prejudice, sometimes it’s just hidden inside us due to our past or surroundings,” Zendaya began her statement on Instagram.

Adding, “That hidden prejudice is often influential in our actions. It’s our job to spot these issues within others and ourselves and destroy them before they become hurtful.”

Throughout the 18-year-old’s Instagram message she addressed how she’s a role model and took the high road as much as she wanted to lash out.

Later in the statement Zendaya said, “Giuliana, I appreciate your apology and I’m glad it was a learning experience for you and for the network. I hope that others negatively affected by her words can also find it in their hearts to accept her apology as well.” Read the full statement below.

Now that both parties have respectfully addressed the situation, do you think people will move on? Let me know in the comments below.
