Deemed the “queen of the one liners” for season 2 of Stranger Things, Priah Ferguson has been the hidden gem of the Netflix original series stealing the spotlight in every scene she graced. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, the pint-size southern belle is on the fast track to becoming one of young Hollywood’s greatest assets with credits to her name including: FX’s award-winning series Atlanta, VH1’s Daytime Divas, PBS’ Mercy Street, and of course Stranger Things playing the outspoken, witty Erica Sinclair, little sister to Caleb McLaughlin’s Lucas Sinclair; who she says was “super amazing” to work with.
Before becoming Stranger Things darling, Ferguson got her start acting in theatre at the young age of 5. With a persona way beyond her years, Priah became program directors’ fav encouraging her to take her career further and seek out an agent. The rest is history in the making thanks to the Duffer Brothers seeing the potential Priah could add to the Erica character.
Priah told Glambergirlblog.com that her role was originally slated to be a few lines, but she blew the Duffer Brothers, creators of Stranger Things, away. “She knocked it out of the park every time we brought her in. Any excuse we had to get Erica in there, we’d write her in,” Matt Duffer told Vulture. The sassy screen time Priah had made her character Erica a beloved icon from the show that stunned the actress. “Well at home I don’t really get a lot of buzz like that but then when I opened the internet it was like ‘whoa, hello!’ Thank you guys so much,” Ferguson shared with GGB.
Since Stranger Things got picked up for a 3rd season on Netflix, fans can only hope for more Erica Sinclair and so does Priah. “Maybe she finds out something. I already admire the writing in season 1 and 2, but maybe she finds out something and is kind of like ‘what’s really going on here,'” she revealed.
Outside of slaying the small screen, Priah is a spokesperson for the United Way Atlanta chapter. Her audition for a one time video for the organization turned into an ongoing partnership which she takes great pride in. Up next, look out for Priah Ferguson on the big screen in the near future for a project she couldn’t take about quite yet, but GGB will be watching and I’m sure the world will be too.
