Over the weekend, Saturday Night Live poked fun at an awkward moment during Nelson Mandela’s funeral.

During the actual funeral of Mandela, President Barack Obama gave a speech where a phony sign language interpreter stood next to him signing false translation to the hearing impaired.

Of course it made headlines and made its way to SNL to be spoofed. Jay Pharoah played Obama and Kenan Thompson played the role of the interpreter.

In the cold open monologue, “Obama” gave a press conference addressing a number things that transpired over that weekend including the selfie he took with British Prime Minister David Cameron and Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidthealthcare, the interpreter and more.
