It’s Official: Randy Jackson Is Leaving ‘American Idol’ After 12 Years

The “dawg” is leaving the judging table of American Idol for good and for real this time.

Randy Jackson told E! News exclusively that after 12 years of being a regular judge on the popular singing competition, this year would be his last.

“Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all of the speculation to rest, after 12 years of judging on American Idol I have decided it is time to leave after this season,” Randy said in a statement. He continued, “I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. It’s been a life changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures.” Randy Jackson is the last of the original judges to leave the show.

Currently, Mariah CareyNicki Minaj, and Keith Urban are judges this season but are rumored to be getting the boot at the end of this season.
