When you can’t trust a word coming out of the main character’s mouth, you know you’re in for an interesting binge watch.
Based on the Julia May Jonas novel of the same name, Vladimir stars Rachel Weisz as the unnamed protagonist who is a tenured English college professor struggling to get into the flow of her next great book. Her reputation and job is called into question in the midst of a upcoming hearing surrounding a scandal with her husband John, another tenured professor at the college played by John Slattery, who has been accused of having inappropriate relationships with several female students.
The protagonist, also referred to as M, finds a pleasant distraction from her world falling apart and much needed inspiration to write her next book when Vladimir, a young and handsome celebrated novelist played by Leo Woodall, joins the faculty. M quickly becomes fixated on him as the fabrications of life are exposed to the viewing audience as the story unfolds.
All 8 episodes of Vladimir are available to stream on Netflix. Watch my review of the series in the clip below.
