Be Careful What You Wish For in the ‘Obsession’ Official Teaser Trailer

The new year is rapidly approaching so that means we’ll start to get more and more teases for movies releasing in 2026. As a certified horror lover, I’m always going to narrow in on those movies and a teaser trailer has caught my eye.

From writer and director Curry Barker comes “Obsession” starring Michael Johnston. After breaking the mysterious “One Wish Willow” to win his crush’s heart, a hopeless romantic finds himself getting exactly what he asked for but soon discovers that some desires come at a dark, sinister price. I surely love a wish gone wrong movie, but my main gripe with this film is the release date. This would have been PERFECT for a Valentine’s Day release to be added to the holiday horror genre. Not that I know this movie will take place around Valentine’s Day, but the theme of a dark love seems the ideal plot for the holiday. Either way I’m on board with this.

“Obsession” is expected in theaters May 15, 2026.
