Two colleagues Get Stranded on an Island in ‘Send Help’ Starring Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien

From Sam Raimi comes a new horror thriller that I wasn’t expecting. When I first started watching the trailer for “Send Help” I thought I was going to be previewing a cute little romance drama like “The Blue Lagoon,” but further watching let me know this movie is going to be a mix of “Triangle of Sadness” and “Survival Island” (formally known as “Three”).

In “Send Help,” Dylan O’Brien plays a demanding and rude boss named Bradley Preston. Early in the trailer we see him belittling an employee named Linda Liddle, played by Rachel McAdams, who appears to be very meek. Extreme circumstances find Bradley and Linda stranded on a deserted island after they are the only survivors of a plane crash. On the island, they must overcome past grievances and work together to survive, but ultimately, it becomes an unsettling and darkly humorous battle of wills and wits to make it out alive. Dylan played some pretty unhinged characters in the last fews movies I saw with him, so I’m down to see what he does in this and Rachel McAdams is Rachel McAdams. Of course I’m going to watch something with her in it especially if she’s acting unhinged.

Edyll Ismail, Dennis Haysbert, Xavier Samuel, Chris Pang, Thaneth Warakulnukroh, and Emma Raimi also appear in the film slated to come to theaters January 30, 2026. Watch the official trailer for “Send Help” in the clip below.
