Movie Review: ‘Caught Stealing’ Starring Austin Butler is a 90s Era Film Dream

I guess I’m a sucker for sexy promo because I’ve unwillingly watched enough Tik Tok promos of “Caught Stealing” featuring Austin Butler and Zoe Kravitz getting intimate that I was compelled to go see the movie in theaters.

Based on the 2004 Charlie Huston novel of the same name and directed by Darren Aronofsky, “Caught Stealing” is set in New York in 1998 and stars Austin Butler as Hank Thompson, a former baseball prospect turned bartender who gets caught up in a dangerous hunt for cash after his neighbor asks him to watch his cat. Alongside Butler and Kravitz, Regina King, Matt Smith, Benito Martínez Ocasio aka Bad Bunny, Liev Schreiber, Vincent D’Onofrio, Carol Kane, Tonic the cat, and Griffin Dunney also appear in the film. I enjoyed this movie way more than I expected and am low key so excited for when this streams so I can watch it again and again.
