Being crowned queen comes with a killer price in the upcoming horror flick “Fear Street: Prom Queen” coming to Netflix. From the mind of horror legend R.L. Stine, “Fear Street: Prom Queen” follows the previous “Fear Street” series of films that were released on the streaming service in 2021: “Fear Street: Part One – 1994,” “Fear Street: Part Two – 1978,” and “Fear Street: Part Three – 1666.” Still set in the fictional town of Shadyside, but this time we’re heading to the 80s for the prom.
Its prom season at Shadyside High and as the likely winners set out for a demanding campaign to take home the title as queen an outsider gets nominated becoming an underdog threatening to win it all. When candidates start to disappear taking home the crown may not be worth it after all. India Fowler, Suzanna Son, Fina Strazza, Chris Klein, David Iacono, Ella Rubin, Ariana Greenblatt, Lili Taylor and Katherine Waterston star in “Fear Street: Prom Queen.”
I tried to watch the “Fear Street” films when they were released a few years ago and I just couldn’t get into them for some reason. It’s odd because I love R.L. Stine and I credit him as one of the reasons I got into horror in the first place. The new film looks good so it may be worth it to revisit the first few films in this series before getting into the new one.
“Fear Street: Prom Queen” premieres on Netflix on May 23, 2025. Watch the official trailer in the clip below.
