I love horror movies. I specifically love a horror slasher, so I was 100% on board for the Finn Wolfhard & Billy Bryk feature film debut “Hell of a Summer.” The film follows Jason (Fred Hechinger), a 24-year-old camp counselor who’s excited to return to Camp Pineway for the summer. Managing the camp alongside his younger co-workers will be nothing in comparison when a masked killer lurking on the campgrounds begin brutally killing counselors.
Originally slated for a April 18 release, “Hell of a Summer” got bumped up to a April 4 premiere. I went to see the movie opening weekend and went in with low expectations. I wasn’t completely blown away by the film and there were key elements that made my experience lackluster. Check out my movie review of “Hell of a Summer” in the video below.
