Your Favorite Murderous Doll Gets an Upgrade and New Enemy in ‘M3GAN 2.0’

An upgrade and a second chance, M3GAN is back in a sequel to the 2023 film that left many gagged by the murderous doll. What will she get into this time around?

In “M3GAN 2.0” the story picks up two years after M3GAN (Amie Donald, voiced by Jenna Davis) went rogue. Now Gemma (Allison Williams), creator of M3GAN, has become a high-profile author and advocate for government oversight of A.I., you know so history won’t repeat itself. And if that job doesn’t sound challenging enough, Gemma is dealing with her rebellious 14-year-old niece Cady (Violet McGraw).

Meanwhile, M3GAN’s tech has been stolen by a powerful defense contractor using it to create a military-grade weapon known as Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno), but there can only be one badass A.I. bitch and a battle of the artifical intelligence baddies commences. The trailer looks so ridiculous and over the top and it seems the creative team behind this film is really leaning into the absurdity that is M3GAN, but you know what? I was very entertained by the first film and am curious to see how this one plays out and what M3GAN will do to up the ante.
