Dakota Johnson Plays A Matchmaker Who Falls For Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal in ‘Materialists’

If you’re like me and was unexpectedly gagged by the 2023 film “Past Lives” from writer/director Celine Song than her next feature film might be just what you need. The Academy Award nominee’s upcoming film “Materialists” stars Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans, and Pedro Pascal in a toxic love triangle.

Johnson plays Lucy, a woman who has a lucrative business as a matchmaker. At a wedding Lucy runs into a past love (Evans) and a potential boo (Pascal) and seemingly begins to pursue them both, but that leads to trouble for Lucy’s clients. I really enjoyed “Past Lives” and if this film is giving the same vibe then I’m ready for it.
