It’s here. February 14th, the day nationally celebrated as Valentine’s Day aka the day to show those special people in your life some extra adoration and affection. I’ve always enjoyed this holiday. I enjoy watching all the displays of romance, but for us single folks it can also be a day to partake in some self love, which I intend to do. So whether you’re in a happy relationship, newly single, or been out of the game for a while you can still revel in this day and get into some great movies to lift your spirits. Happy Valentine’s Day! Here’s 12 romantic comedies you can stream during this national day of love.

“27 Dresses” (2008)
Always a bridesmaid, never a bride. A hopeless romantic who is secretly in love with her boss must put her feelings aside when he falls for her sister meanwhile, her stints as a bridesmaid has caught the attention of a local columnist wanting to feature her. In this one, someone’s break-up trash becomes art treasure. After a break-up a woman decides to start a gallery where people across the city can leave trinkets from previous relationships. With some help from a handsome friend, the gallery project sparks something more than intended. “Brown Sugar” (2002)
Sometimes love takes a while especially for two childhood friends who first bonded over their love of Hip-Hop music. Now as adults, and still denying their feelings, can music be the thing that finally brings them together. See if you fall in love with Hip-Hop when you watch Taye Diggs, Sanaa Lathan, Yasiin Bey, Nicole Ari Parker, Boris Kodjoe, Queen Latifah, and Wendell Pierce in “Brown Sugar” on Hulu.
“Crazy, Stupid, Love.” (2011)
One of the best comedic reveals in recent film history is in “Crazy, Stupid, Love.” When a middle-aged husband’s life is turned upside down when his wife ask for a divorce, he unintentionally gets the help from a charming and dashing womanizer to rediscover his manhood. When a group of queer besties head to Fire Island Pines for a week of raunchy fun, the events gets a shake up when their annual tradition might be their last summer in paradise. “How to Be Single” (2016)
Being in a relationship is great, but there are those times when you need to relish in the time spent alone. What’s Valentine’s Day without a love fern, Carly Simon, and a ploy to get a guy to not fall in love with you. When an ad executive makes a bet that he can make anyone fall in love with him so he can land a huge campaign he meets a magazine writer who plans an article that she can drive any guy away by doing obnoxious things.
