‘M3GAN 2.0’ Brings Back The Dancing Killer Doll to Slay A Big Enemy [MOVIE]

Same dance moves. New enemies.

M3GAN (Amie Donald, voiced by Jenna Davis) is back to slay in the follow up of the 2023 beloved film named after the killer robotic doll. With an upgrade and a new mission, a “M3GAN 2.0” first look is teasing what’s to come.

Gerard Johnstone and Akela Cooper are back as director and writer for the sequel with James Won and Jason Blum returning as well to wrap up the creative team. In “M3GAN 2.0” the story picks up two years following the events of “M3GAN.” M3GAN’s creator Gemma (Allison Williams) and her niece Cady (Violet McGraw) have attempted to move past the destructive events from the first film. Now Gemma is a high-profile author and campaigns alongside the government with the oversight of A.I. What Gemma and the government doesn’t know is that the tech used to create M3GAN has been stolen and is being misused by a defense contractor to create a military-grade weapon known as Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno).

Of course people never learn to stop messing with A.I and Amelia goes rouge, so it’s up to M3GAN to put a stop to it. It’s going to be a tech battle for the ages and I’m excited to see how this ends. Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps return with Aristotle Athari, Timm Sharp, and Jemaine Clement joining the franchise.

“M3GAN 2.0” comes to theaters on June 27, 2025.
