Finn Wolfhard & Billy Bryk Make Their Directorial Feature Debut With Campy ‘Hell of a Summer’ [MOVIE]

I love a slasher horror movie. More specifically I think I really enjoy a campy type of slasher movie and the upcoming film “Hell of a Summer” seems to be giving just that. It’s giving “Sleepaway Camp” vibes and I’m completely on board for that.

Finn Wolfhard & Billy Bryk made their feature film directorial debut, along with writing the script, with “Hell of a Summer.” The film follows Jason (Fred Hechinger), a 24-year-old camp counselor who’s excited to return to Camp Pineway for the summer. Managing the camp alongside teenage co-workers will be nothing in comparison when a masked killer lurking on the campgrounds begin brutally killing counselors. The trailer is filled with laughs and what looks like gnarly kills. I can’t wait for this. Along with Wolfhard, Bryk, and Hechinger, Pardis Saremi, D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Abby Quinn, Rosebud Baker, Julia Lalonde, Krista Nazaire, Matthew Finlan, Daniel Gravelle, Susan Coyne, and Julia Doyle are featured in the cast.

“Hell of a Summer” comes to theaters on April 18, 2025.
