The idea of celebrity is an interesting one. The power an artist can wield over their fans needs to be seriously dissected, but now thanks to A24 we get a movie about it. Written and directed by Mark Anthony Green, “Opus” follows the resurfacing of an iconic pop star and things go left starring Ayo Edebiri and John Malkovich.
After 30 years outside of the public eye, Pop icon Moretti (Malkovich) returns for an exclusive listening experience. Magazine writer Ariel (Edebiri) gets an invite to the secluded compound with ritualistic practices to cover the story and from the looks at the trailer weird stuff will take place. Juliette Lewis, Murray Bartlett, Amber Midthunder, Stephanie Suganami, Young Mazino, and Tatanka Means are featured cast in the film.
There’s no cult like celebrity. “Opus” comes to theaters on Friday, March 14, 2025.
