Last March it was revealed that Joe Goldberg’s reign of terror would come to end with the fifth and final season of Netflix’s guilty pleasure series You, a psychological drama series starring Penn Badgley as a twisted man who will do anything for love. The series, based on novels by Caroline Kepnes, started as a Lifetime Original series in 2018 before moving to Netflix when it got revived after cancellation. It has gone on the become one of the streaming services most talked about shows. The first seasons were golden and I couldn’t get enough of Joe and his antics, I held on to season 3 because Victoria Pedretti was still on the show, but the 4th season completely lost me especially with Joe’s disassociation plot, but I’m too invested to not finish this series.
The new season of You finds Joe back in New York and at Mooney’s where his story started. With a new love in Kate (Charlotte Ritchie) and resources that seemingly make Joe unstoppable, it’ll be interesting to see where this story goes and how many more lives Joe will take or destroy before he’s finally stopped. Madeline Brewer, Griffin Matthews, Anna Camp, Natasha Behnam, Pete Ploszek, Tom Francis, Nava Mau, and b are slated as new cast for the final showdown with previous faces teased to return in some way to torment Joe.
The fifth and final season of You comes to Netflix on Thursday, April 24, 2025 with all 10 episodes.
