‘SNL’ Viral Character Domingo Makes Delightful Appearance at Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Short n’ Sweet’ LA Show

When Ariana Grande hosted Saturday Night Live for the third time back in October it should have been given that her appearance would have been a viral charm. Fans, and pop culture lovers alike, gravitated towards two sketches in particular. One where the “Wicked” actress and singer played Antonio, the singing son of parents (SNL alums Maya Rudolph and Andy Samberg) who are trying impress a prince (SNL cast member Andrew Dismukes) in Italy during the Late Renaissance.

And another where a group of bridesmaids (Grande, SNL cast members Heidi Gardner, Ego Nwodim, and Sarah Sherman) sing a revealing song about their bachelorette trip at their friend’s (SNL cast member Chloe Fineman) wedding. The reason why this sketch became so famous is from the use of Sabrina Carpenter’s successful “Espresso” song from her Short n’ Sweet album and SNL actor Marcello Hernandez as Domingo.

Sabrina’s “Espresso” was definitely thee song of the summer and after landing Grammy nominations I’m certain she’ll have to come home with something, but the single and Domingo is a gift that keeps giving. Carpenter kicked off her Short n’ Sweet arena tour in September with the show stopping in Los Angeles over the weekend. During a segment in the show Sabrina “arrests” an audience member for being too hot before performing “Juno.” This time Domingo “traveled all this way” to bring his rizz and it made for such a entertaining moment for those who got how iconic the exchange was.
